Teachers and Course Administrators,

If you are a teacher that users the online class server and have content online, please send me an e-mail and let me know. I'd like to have a list of active teachers who use this tool frequently.

We were considering an update to the Online Class Server over the holidays, but it appears that this update from the existing version to the new release would require a complete database overhaul, converting from one DB type to another and making some major changes in the structure of the entire system. I do not feel that it would be in the best interests of our teachers and students to attempt this during the middle of a school year, so we're going to put off any updates until after May. At that time, please make sure that you have a complete copy of all of your online content, materials, files, etc. so that you may rebuild your classes in the event that the forthcoming conversion and update tools are not successful during the transistion to the new database.

Teachers and Instructors, I am asking that you please make backups of your online class data on a regular basis. We've had to reboot the server several times over the past few days, and while error logs have been analyzed and some minor adjustments have been made to the configuration files, there is a possiblity that we'll be reloading the server software in the near future. This will allow us to not only update it to the latest version, but attempt to resolve some of the recent stability issues we've been experiencing.

There was a User Database Crash earlier today that has now been resolved. If anybody was attempting to log in earlier and was getting rejected, please try again. If there are further issues, please let me know ASAP so we can attempt to get them resolved.
